There’s no place like home! I don’t know about you, but that saying means so much to many people, including Mr. Cottage and I. You don’t need to live in a mansion or even in your dream home to love the home you have. With the right knowledge, anyone can create your current house into one you just love coming back home to. My friend, Karianne Wood of the blog, Thistlewood Farms, is getting ready to launch her second book The DIY Home Planner. There’s a special deal for all of you further down this post.
“Your home should tell the story of who you are, and be a collection of what you love.” ~Nate Berkus

I can tell you I’ve read this book and it’s really full of exceptional tips and ideas for the beginner who knows nothing about decorating, all the way to someone like me who has taken interior design courses in college. Remember that learning is a life-long process for anybody.
Both the inside front cover and back cover have pockets for you to store notes or samples. And if you notice the photo of the actual book, there’s an elastic strap to hold everything together that’s inside your book.
If you’re not familiar with Karianne or her blog, she’s very talented in her decorating and all the many inexpensive projects she keeps coming up with. She knows we all live on a limited budget, just as she does with her husband and children.
The book starts right at the beginning and helps you understand how to make up a floor plan for all your rooms.
Every chapter ends with A Little Inspiration for the Road, which is full of great suggestions and ideas.
If you go to TheDIYHomePlanner.com, you’ll see more information about the book. This book will be launched on March 6, but if you preorder before that date (which is just around the corner), two things will happen. The first is you’ll be entered to win a one-on-one consultation with Karianne AND the second one is you’ll have access to an exclusive 8-part video eCourse that takes you through the book. If you click on the link in this paragraph, all the information is there, along with a preview of the videos.
