I don’t want to scare you, or anything like that, but are you aware that Thanksgiving is only four weeks from now? Really, and then it’s Black Friday and time to let the shopping begin!
Give thanks for a little and you will find a lot ~Unknown
I’m joining up with seven women to give you hints, ideas, and recipes for Thanksgiving. No Place Like Home would like to invite you to visit each of us to see what we can offer you to help make your holiday just a tad bit easier and enjoyable for you, your family and friends.
We’ll be hosting another Thanksgiving at our house this year. I bought the above harvest table at an estate sale right after we purchased our condo. Even though we have extension leaves that go into both ends of the table, we don’t usually need them because there’s just six adults and our 5 year old grandson, Corbin. This is the first year I finally went and bought a tablecloth for this table. If you haven’t already heard, plaids are really big this year. I found this beautiful Ralph Lauren tablecloth at HomeGoods; and I was fortunate enough to find the matching napkins. But I did find another source where you can buy the same tablecloth. (See the photo above).

We purchased our silverware more than 13 years ago for our cottage. I had a part-time seasonal job at Williams-Sonoma that first year, so we bought a lot of items for the cottage using their 40% employee discount! The blue dishes I bought on clearance from Stein Mart, about 11 years ago

It sometimes pays to hang onto things that you have no idea what to do with it. The copper above was wrapped around a vase of flowers I received a few years ago. I ended up cutting them and wrapped them around each napkin to use as a napkin ring. Any type of wire, ribbon or twine can be used instead of a napkin ring and can save you money. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that our pumpkins will last one more month.
