“Spring won’t let me stay in this house any longer! I must get out and breathe the air deeply again.” ~Gustav Mahler
Unless you live in one of the very warm states where it never snows, you’re probably more than anxiously awaiting for spring weather. Notice I didn’t say waiting for spring, because it’s officially arrived! But Mother Nature has other ideas for spring weather, especially in the midwest and northeast. So today, No Place Like Home is sharing some spring inspiration to get us all set and ready to go when our weather turns to spring.
Mr. Cottage and I had a nice covered front porch at our previous house. We had room for a chair or two, pots of flowers and places to hang whatever we wanted. We now have a tiny stoop for our porch, which doesn’t leave much room for anything.
There’s no room for a chair, but at least we can put a pot or two of flowers on it and the porch is protected from the roof that covers it. Here in Michigan, there will be no real flowers in any pot until sometime in May. So other than something to hang on the door and a doormat, there’s not much else we usually do.
This year, however, I found this cute bunny at Hobby Lobby. I wrote about my spring findings here. To go along with my floral arrangement, I added a bright coral bow around it. Now it’s all decked out for spring!
I bought this “hello” doormat a year ago on Amazon. Unfortunately it’s no longer available in the size I bought, but there is another one just like it in a slightly larger size which you can see by clicking above. Its held up well since we purchased it. Because we downsized and don’t have as much room, I don’t have room to store lots of doormats for various seasons. We have this one and another for winter.
I put this arrangement together about 2 years ago, so I know some of you have seen this before. It looks perfect for spring with it’s bright coral and white flowers in it. I purchased the welcome container from Kennedy’s (local store) years ago and had lilacs in it at our previous house.
I love how well its aged over the years with just the right amount of rust.
Yes, those are all old, dead leaves on some plants and on our walkway, but better to see them than snow that’s covering all of it!
