Welcome to my very first Tuesday’s Tidbits! I used to do a Thursday’s Ramblings but haven’t done one in ages; and now I’m one of the hosts with Share Your Style link party every Thursday. I’ll be sharing bits and pieces with you, some of my own and some from the internet.
If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way. ~Napoleon Hill
So many of you loved my little sheep I shared with you in my Cozy Winter Decor post. I think I had shared it before but I’m not sure if it was on Instagram or where it was. He was a Christmas gift to myself that I recently purchased from Edith and Evelyn on Etsy.
She doesn’t currently have one like the one I bought. Mine is a bit smaller and a lot less expensive than what she’s currently selling. However, if you go to Etsy, just enter German Sheep or German Sheep Putz to see others that are similar to mine.
I really lucked out on this one because he’s in great condition and the cost was within my small budget. If you want one and don’t currently see one, just keep checking on Etsy or Ebay.
If this looks familiar, it’s because I chose it as one of my features in Share Your Style. It looked so delicious that I decided to make it for Christmas Eve and everyone loved it! I placed this Delicate Chocolate Cake “Spartak” in a springform pan to transport it and then left all the leftovers behind, except for what you see above. Mr. Cottage and I split the above small piece because we didn’t need all the extra calories. It’s really easy to make, but does take a bit of time. You can get this recipe at Munchkin Time. It’s perfect for any special occasion!
Do you ever feel like screaming to the world when you save a ton of money from a sale! Well that’s exactly what I did when I purchased the above from Hobby Lobby. I did Stories on Instagram and was beyond thrilled to share this with everyone. I went to Hobby Lobby looking for something else and saw all this on sale at 90% off. I bought this for the top of our Christmas tree for next year. My total came to $6.73 and I saved almost $60.00 on the above! WOOT! WOOT!

My old slippers died last year and had to finally be tossed out. I had a couple of gift cards from Macy’s, so I bought these MukLuk slippers on sale, with free shipping, the day after Christmas. I ordered them online and they not only fit perfect, but they keep my bare feet so warm and toasty. I don’t need to wear any socks with them. I can’t say enough good things about my new slippers.
If you haven’t read or heard about The Perk Project, you need to go read Stacey and Jemma’s blogs right now. Stacey is from Poofing The Pillows and Jemma is At Home With Jemma. They’ve been writing about Positive*Encouraging*Real*Kindness, as in doing good and accentuating the positive in our lives. Even though their project is ending for now, they have the links to go back and read these from the beginning. They make you feel good and fuzzy warm inside!
Before I go, remember: Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
