I can’t believe we’ve been home from our trip for a month now! It was cold and snowy when we left, and now we finally have beautiful weather. Mr. Cottage is getting our cottage ready for us to use, and I’ve been slowly getting some spring cleaning done.
Has it ever struck you…that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quickly you hardly catch it going? It’s really all memory…except for each passing moment. ~Eric Kandel
Vintage Gifts From A Heart Of Gold
Have you heard of the blog, Panoply? Rita and her sister have a booth at a fabulous antique store in West Virginia. She has a love for vintage and antique and loves being on the hunt for even more items. But back in January, she wrote about a purge proposal and asked anyone who was interested, to contact her. I was one of many who did, but as it got closer to her actually purging and selecting what to send to whom, I wrote and told Rita that we were going to be away for quite awhile and when might be a good time to send it. Shortly after arriving home, a heavy package arrived and I couldn’t figure out what it was until I looked at the mailing label. With our cruise to Hawaii and time passing, I literally had forgotten about her sending some of her purge to me. You can read more about her purge recap here.
As you can see, I received a great grain sack with the red striping, a vintage tablecloth, pottery dish with sheep, cutting board, and a door hanger.
I love this dish with the sheep and I have one of several areas where it’s going to end up.
Here’s a peek at the vintage tablecloth.
Rita was kind enough to send a handwritten note thanking me for participating in her purge. It’s me who is really thanking her for sending her goodies to me!
Tiered Tray For Summer
It wasn’t even Easter before we left on the cruise and when we came back, bunnies and eggs were everywhere.
I finally put the Easter items away and made it look a bit more like summer.
I went to Dollar Tree the other day and bought a faux succulent for my painted pot.
This is the only Longaberger miniature basket that I kept and it’s filled with mini-faux Peonies, so no worry about ants crawling on them!
