There’s been a lot of this and that I want to share with you, so I decided it was time for another Tuesday’s Tidbits. I recently returned from visiting family in Texas where it was hot! hot! hot!
“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.” ~Dr. Seuss
I think the temperatures were in the 95-98 degree range, but fortunately between the pool and air conditioning I survived it all.
This was my view while I sipped coffee every morning, before it got too hot outdoors.
Look at everyone I was able to meet up with on this visit! We met in McKinney and had a great time talking about what else but blogging. Ha, Ha!
My daughter-in-law, Lisa, drove me to McKinney and while I lunched with my friends, she and our granddaughter shopped. After lunch, I met up with my family and we went to Emporium Pies and ordered their Lord of the Pies to take home with us. I can’t begin to tell you how delicious and huge it was!
Lisa’s parents had us over for dinner before I left to fly back home. Her mother is extremely handy and talented. She was in the process of working on their bathroom last time I was there, but now it’s completely finished. Other than removing the old bathtub, Angie did everything herself; including planked flooring, tiling around the new tub, Venetian plaster on the walls, new antique vanity with gorgeous sink, this new mirror, sliding door on railing and the real shiplap she found for free that she put on the one wall. Didn’t she do a fantastic job!
I was on a non-stop flight and as we neared Lake Michigan, I looked for the city of Chicago and found it. If you’ve never been to Chicago, it’s one of my favorite big cities!
For Father’s Day, Mr. Cottage and I went to the Meijer Gardens Outdoor Concert Series to see Alison Krauss. I think my trip to Texas prepared me for yesterday because the temp was in the mid-nineties; and for Michigan, that’s really hot! The prices are more affordable for these outdoor concerts than for many indoor concerts,
And one last thing I have to share with you. I went to Trader Joe’s today and they were giving samples of this delicious Lemon Basil Pasta Salad. All I had to do for dinner tonight was mix everything together in a bowl and squeeze the lemon on it. Mr. Cottage and I really enjoyed it and we’ll be buying this again!
