I’m so glad to be joining up today for a Romantic Tablescape Blog Hop. Chloe, from Celebrate and Decorate, has graciously asked 22 bloggers to join her this week in sharing their romantic tables with you. You’ll find all the links at the bottom of this blog post for more inspiration.
“Love doesn’t make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.” ~Franklin P. Jones
Ah yes, February and Valentine’s Day are all about hearts, love and roses; except for me and maybe a few million other people!
Sorry to say, but tulips are my favorite flowers, especially the ones that are pink and white!
As most of you know, Mr. Cottage and I downsized to our condo over four years ago. The table above is in front of our bay window in our kitchen. As a couple, we never eat at our harvest table alone. It’s more for when we have family and friends over to our house.
So it makes more sense to eat in our “cafe” (as I named our kitchen). Think how romantic eating in a cafe can really be!
A little LOVE on the table can go a long ways! And I love using old, vintage tablecloths. I’m always on the lookout for more.
I placed some eucalyptus on our lazy Susan and then sprinkled heart-shaped foam stickers over them.
I found and bought these floral plates just this year. I really think I have spring on my mind!
I folded and rolled our napkins to look like a rose. I think it would have looked better with a solid color, but I didn’t have any around to use. When we downsized, we had a huge estate sale and I got rid of lots of linens and so much other stuff. I’ll have to work on building up a small supply again.
We even got rid of our Fostoria crystal, so now all we have is this Waterford Marquis, which I love. My sister bought the candlesticks on one of her many visits to France.
Now that the candles are lit, let’s see what’s on the menu for tonight…
The flourless chocolate cake recipe can be found here; and the lemon shrimp scampi and caprese salad will be shared shortly.
