We finally got our ceiling fan in time for summer’s end, but as they say, “better late than never“. As I mentioned here, we haven’t have any ceiling fan in our living room or master bedroom since we moved in five years ago.
“Sigh… there goes another summer, Snoopy!” ~Charlie Brown
We knew we would have to hire an electrician, which is where most of the cost went to. Then it was a matter of choosing the right fan for each room.
Our living room, dining and kitchen all open to one another, plus we have a high ceiling; so I decided to choose a fan that would make a statement. We love it! I loved a lot of the fans I saw, so it was a hard decision trying to find the right one. There’s lots of trendy styles out there, but we decided to go with one that would be more timeless in style.
We also wanted a fan with a light because we needed lighting by our dining area. Not only does it have a down light, but it has a light that shines up. The photo above has both lights on.
And here it’s just the upper light that’s on. What we really love is that both of them can be dimmed!
We have a handheld remote control we can use, as well as a control that’s been installed in our room. As you can see above, it has three speeds and a reverse; and it’s made by Craftmade. After doing some research, I discovered that Craftmade makes great fans. There are only two places in Grand Rapids who sell Craftmade, and both of them sell the best lighting and fans in their stores.
It’s really hard to see in the photos I took, but the blades are a wood tone, as shown above.
Nothing says summer is coming to an end like sunflowers, but boy do I love them! If you’re looking for a new ceiling fan, Hunter (which we put into our bedroom) and Craftmade are both two brands we would highly recommend.
