If you had to make a decision between a chandelier or a ceiling fan for your bedroom, which would you choose? I love the look of chandeliers hanging in a bedroom, but at my age, comfort takes priority. We have no idea why the original owners of our condo never wanted ceiling fans installed because every other condo unit has ceiling fans hanging in them. We put one in the guest room shortly after moving in because that’s the room we used until we got our master bedroom ready.

We finally hired an electrician and I picked out a fan that I knew would look good in our room. I didn’t want to make it a statement piece, so I stayed with white to blend in with the ceiling and the style of our room which I consider a mix of farmhouse and coastal.
We had a Casablanca fan in our previous house and even though it was more than 25 years old when we sold our house, we never had a problem with it. We know Hunter Fans are also great. Maybe that’s because Hunter is the parent organization of Casablanca.

Our fan is so quiet, you don’t even know it’s on except for a slight breeze that’s blowing down on you. The white cord you see above is for the remote control, which can be hung on the wall or kept bedside.
While the electrician was here, he played around with some switches on the living room wall and went in the attic and discovered the builder had installed all the wiring for a ceiling fan. Hurray! I just found and ordered a new fan for our living room and our electrician will be installing it when he returns from his vacation. I’ll share this with you when it’s completed. Even though we have air conditioning, ceiling fans can make a world of difference for comfort!
