It has been so dry around here, but finally we got some much needed rain. Unfortunately, it came during the weekend, but I guess beggars can’t be choosy, so we’ll take it when we can. Mr. Cottage has been making special trips to our cottage just to water our plants and flowers, and I can’t begin to tell you how brown some of the grass is looking in places around us.
“The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.” ~Dolly Parton
Mr. Cottage put our chairs out, but we never had a chance to keep our cushions on them because of all the rain we got for three days. But I’m not complaining because we needed a good soaking!
I was able to get out on Thursday and take a few photos of our flowers and lake.
I even took a few snapshots of the sunset.
Just before the storm.
Remember my Dragon Wing Begonia? I’m happy to say it’s doing great!
This is where I ended up hanging the flag, at least for now. You might think our weekend was a washout, but we managed to go out to dinner one night, and got invited to play Trivia with a large group on Friday evening. Mr. Cottage did lots of reading and even managed to catch some fish this past Thursday . As for myself, I decided to paint with my watercolors.
I’ve got tons of canvas laying around, so I thought I would try painting a seahorse on one. Then I decided to paint another one to give to my BFF when I see her in a few weeks. She had asked me awhile ago if I could do a seahorse. I hope she likes it (By the way, she won’t be reading this nor does she do social media, so my secret is safe with you, shhh!).
