Today I have such a simple DIY fall decor that will take you less than 5 minutes to put together! I already had our house decorated for fall because of our fall tour of homes, but then I just came up with this idea the other day. I had to go down to my craft area and for whatever reason, I spotted my metal basket and had a lightbulb moment! I think it helped that when I took it downstairs after after last Christmas, I left the birch logs and pinecones in the basket.
“Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with it’s last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.” ~Lauren DeStefano
I had everything I needed to throw my idea together in no time at all. The longest part was getting to the storage tub that had our pheasant feathers in it from last Christmas.
What you’ll need:
- Metal Basket, or a heavy, stiff basket
- Logs, Birch if possible but any will work
- Real or faux fall leaves
- Pheasant feathers, if you have them
- Any other fall items you want to add to it
I took the logs and pinecones out of the basket and gathered my leaves and feathers. I have all kinds of faux leaves and flowers laying around just begging me to finally use them somewhere…lol!
I love this metal basket I bought last year because you can see everything in it, especially the pinecones. But an olive bucket or any other type of metal basket or bucket will work. The logs will add weight and lean, so if you don’t have metal you could also use a regular basket as long as it’s heavy and stiff.
This is the same basket I used last Christmas, along with the same birch logs and pinecones.
The biggest issue I had was where could I put it. I finally settled on it next to our bench in our entry.
Simple, Easy, Quick…can’t get any better than that!
Now for a special announcement!
I’ve been working for months to put together a special Member’s Library for all my email subscriber’s. You’ll see it at the very top left on this blog. It’s password protected and if you’re already an email subscriber, you should have received an email with all the information in it. It was sent out earlier this morning to all of you! In the Member’s Library you’ll find some of my printable art, tips and recipes. It’s my little way of saying thank you for following along with me. After all, you’re the heart and soul of my blog! I’ve also redesigned the signup form for my new email subscriber’s so you can receive what you’re interested in or everything. Current members can change your preferences at the bottom of every email you receive. Thank you all!
