Have you noticed I haven’t written Stories With Sadie since mid-August? Good, I was hoping you hadn’t noticed! It seems like once Labor Day arrives, this time of year gets really busy for us. Needless to say, much has gone on with her, too.
“Name one development in the history of humankind that has increased happiness more than the domestication of dogs.” ~Aaron Easterly (CEO of Rover.com)
But before I tell you about her, I watched the Today Show this week and they’ve been talking a lot about happiness. It’s a proven fact that dogs can increase your happiness.
How Dogs Increase Our Happiness…
- They make us laugh with their antics, emotions and excitement.
- They never let us feel lonely.
- They cheer us up.
- They love to cuddle.
- They get us out of the house to walk and mingle with other people.
- Their happiness is contagious.
- Unconditional love.
Sadie has had two fluff and puffs since we’ve had her. That’s our term for her to get groomed. The bow looks so cute on her head, but it only lasts an hour or two before she tries taking it out.
She even gets a pedicure on her paws, and always comes home smelling so good.
When we first got Sadie last spring, I tried my best to get her to use Molly’s bed, but she wanted nothing to do with it. So all these months we’ve been using it as a toy box to keep her toys in it. And then the other evening, Mr. Cottage and I noticed her trying to get comfortable in the bed, along with all the toys! I just had to get photos of her in it.
Then the next day, and the next she continued going into the bed. Even as I write this, she’s sleeping in her bed.
The part you see that’s sticking up is the actual pillow she sleeps on. It’s reversible, furry for colder weather or cotton for warmer weather. Somehow she stayed on top, while burying her toys.
Anyways, we’re thrilled and so happy that she’s taken to this bed. The bed at the cottage is just too small for her and is used as a toy box.
Night, night Sadie Sue!
